Candace Matthews has been appointed to the board of directors and the Governance and Corporate Responsiblity Committee as announced by Herman Miller. Chief reputation officer at amway corporation, Matthews previously served as Amway’s regional president for America and also as Amway’s chief marketing officer. She had joined Amway Corporation back then in 2007 and was very much involved in leading the company through marketing transformation. She also made a comendable contribution in double-digit sales growth, increasing their market share, and also improving the brand awareness. Her responsibilities included developing Amway’s consumer insights compentacy along with corporate social responsibility and brand and digital strategies of the company. Candace also worked parallel to a cross-functional group of executive leaders focusing on culture enhancement, talent capabilities and global market needs of the company.
Prelusive to Amway, Matthews had served as president of SoftSheen-Carson, Consumer Products Division of L’Oreal USA. In this role she oversaw all company operations, including the merger of L’Oreal’s SoftSheen and Carson businesses. Matthews was also a vice president with The Coca-Cola Company, and held senior positions at CIBA Vision Corporation, Baush+Lomb, Proctor & Gamble and General Mills.
