At The Tokyo Paralympics In 2021, USANA Athletes Will Triumph

More professional and Olympic athletes trust USANA products than any other nutritional supplement on the market, and the nutritional corporation supported a group of American Paralympic competitors competing in Tokyo for the second summer cycle in a row.

In athletics, judo, shooting, swimming, wheelchair fencing, and tennis events, USANA participants earned thirteen podiums, including seven gold, three silver, and three bronze medals during the 13-day competition.

With five combined world records, two American records, and six gold medals, American sprinter Nick Mayhugh and swimmer Jessica Long lead the pack.

Nick Mayhugh

After football seven was ruled out of this year’s Games, breakout sensation and dual athlete Mayhugh made his Paralympic track and field debut.

Mayhugh won gold medals in all four of his events, the men’s 100m T37 (gold), 200m T37 (gold), 400m T37 (silver), and the 4x100m universal relays (gold), setting five world records and two American records in the process.

Mayhugh’s words
“Going to Tokyo and representing my country on the biggest stage has always been a dream of mine,” Mayhugh says.

“For the past year and a half, I have dedicated everything I have physically, mentally, and emotionally to the discipline of athletics. Coming home with medals in every event and a couple of world records meant the world to me.

“It’s a testament to my brother’s, my team’s, and my dedication to my art. I hope it motivates individuals who read it at home to remember that no matter how life has treated you, you are in charge of your boundaries. You, too, can be a champion if you believe in yourself and work hard.

Jessica Long

Jessica Long, an award-winning veteran swimmer, won six medals, making her the second-most decorated American Paralympian in history with 29 medals.

Long won gold medals in the women’s 100m butterfly S8 (gold), 200m medley SM8 (gold), 4 100m medley relay (gold), 400m freestyle S8 (silver), 100m breaststroke SB7 (silver), and 100m backstroke S8 (bronze) as a five-time Paralympian.

Words of the swimmer

“It’s been incredible to be in Tokyo and to have so many people support us over the last four weeks,” Long says.

“The support I’ve received has been extraordinary. It’s incredible to see how far the Paralympic Games have progressed since my first Games! Thank you very much for your kind words of support.
