Ambassador Of The Values And Support For Women Of Her Centennial Mother, The Avon Foundation, Joins LALCEC To Fight Breast Cancer With The Launch Of A New Campaign. Within The Framework Of The Week Of Action For Women’s Health, Which Takes Place From May 27 To June 2, Comes The “Lifelong Care” Campaign, Which Will Make An Agreement With Mamotest Available To Women That Will Provide Free Controls In Different Locations In Argentina.
With An Incidence Rate Of 1 In 8 Women, Breast Cancer Is One Of The Most Common In The Latin American Region. Last Year, Health Professionals Warned About A 65% Decrease In Mammograms Performed And The Seriousness Of The Postponement Of Routine Preventive Breast Controls. They Also Recalled That In 90% Of Breast Cancer Cases Detected Early, It Does Not Become Lethal.

Early Diagnosis
The Pandemic Has Been The Biggest Incident In The Decrease In Breast Preventive Controls. Last Year, Mastology Consultations Decreased By 48% In Attendance, Consequently, 65% Fewer Mammograms. Thus Affecting The Possibility Of Early Diagnosis Of The Disease, According To Data Published By The Argentine Society Of Mastology.
For This Reason, The AVON Foundation And The Argentine League To Fight Cancer (LALCEC), Call On Women To Carry Out Preventive Controls Taking Advantage Of The Campaign’s Facilities. Focused Primarily On Women Of At-Risk Age Who Do Not Have Health Coverage, 6,000 Free Mammograms Will Be Available To You.

“Breast Cancer Affects More Than 19,000 Women Per Year And Many Without Access To A Mammographer. For This Reason, We Are Supporting Free Access To Mammograms For Women Of At-Risk Age, And Working To Raise Awareness About Taking Care Of Our Breast Health. We Know That We Are Going Through A Very Delicate Moment, And We Have Taken All The Proceeds To Be Able To Take Action In Favor Of Women’s Health. ”
Ana Inés Álvarez, Executive Director Of Fundación Avon.

The Avon-Lalcec Mobile Mammography Will Tour The Provinces Of Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Santa Fe, And Buenos Aires, Performing 5000 Completely Free Mammograms. Active Since 1999, With More Than 159,000 Mammograms Performed, It Has Allowed More Than 4,500 Women To Be Diagnosed On Time.

“That The Avon LALCEC Mobile Continues To Travel The Country Performing Mammograms, Even In This Particular Context, Demonstrates Its Fundamental Role In Society. Working With The Avon Foundation Fills Us With Pride And Inspires Us To Continue Joining Forces To Reduce Breast Cancer Mortality In Argentina “María Cristina Espil, President Of LALCEC.

For Its Part, The Foundation In Alliance With Mamotest, The First Telemamography Network In Latin America, Will Carry Out 1000 Free Mammograms. The Beneficiaries Of This Initiative Will Be 12 Health Centers Distributed In Corrientes, Chaco, Jujuy, Santa Fe, And Misiones. They Will Have The Analysis Of Professionals From All Over The Region, And The Results Will Be Delivered Within The Next 24 Hours After They Are Performed.
“In The Case Of Breast Cancer, Time Plays A Key Role For Survival. Delaying A Study Six Months Can, In Many Cases, Determine Life Or Death. Achieving Universal Access Requires The Ability To Conduct Studies In Areas Far From Urban Centers And Access To Specialist Doctors, Who Are 76% More Likely To Detect Cancer, Compared To Radiologists Without Breast Training. With Universal Access And High-Quality Diagnostics, We Give Women The Opportunity To Treat Cancer On Time. This Means Fewer Interventions, Fewer Drugs, And A Better Chance Of Survival. “Guillermo Pepe, Founder Of Mamotest
