Herbalife Nutrition, a global direct selling company, said on Thursday that it had contributed over USD 1 million (about Rs 7 crore) towards COVID-19 relief efforts in India.
Herbalife Nutrition said in a statement that it has partnered with more than ten states since April 2020 to offer vital COVID help in the form of ICU ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and PPE kits. Ajay Khanna, Vice President of Herbalife Nutrition and India Country Head, said of the project, “The epidemic is both public health and humanitarian emergency. We are devoted to helping our communities and our country in whatever way we can.”
He went on to say, “Herbalife Nutrition is continuing to help by donating medical equipment and working with its partners to improve current infrastructure. The best way to achieve rehabilitation is to work together, and we will do everything we can to assist all Indians.”
Apart from contributing to the wider Indian society, the premier global nutrition company said it has maintained a continuous commitment to the wellbeing of its distributors and employees through a series of targeted assistance programmes focusing on work-life balance, medical counselling, oxygen concentrator provisioning, and a vaccination drive.
