The Way To Connect With Direct Selling Industry

The IDSA And Shoolini University Have Established A Direct Selling Centre Of Excellence

The Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) and Shoolini University have collaborated to create a ‘Center of Excellence for Direct Selling in Academics’ (CEDSA), which will provide a year-long PG Diploma in Direct Selling beginning in the academic year 2021-22. CEDSA will be India’s first Direct selling Center of Excellence.

Govind Singh Thakur, Himachal Pradesh’s Minister of Education, and Rajinder Garg, Himachal Pradesh’s Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, jointly opened the centre. “It is really to include such employment-oriented educational courses in the curriculum,” Shri. Thakur remarked during the event. Students will receive a research-based education while also understanding the intricacies of the industry if Direct Selling is introduced into academics.”

“I congratulate IDSA and Shoolini University for starting a unique, employment-oriented course that links education with employment and would benefit the youth of the state and the country,” said Shri. Rajinder Garg, who also inaugurated the portal for admissions to the Post Graduate Diploma in Direct Selling. “This is a fantastic initiative to bring business and academics together, which will also produce employment,” said Shoolini University Vice-Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla.

“The establishment of CEDSA will start a new chapter in the country’s Direct Selling ecosystem, and we remain confident that additional educational institutions will provide much-needed push on formal studies in the Direct Selling business model,” Rini Sanyal, IDSA Chairperson, said, We feel that an extensive academic curriculum is required and that CEDSA may act as a Direct Selling research incubator in India.”

CEDSA is only the second such ‘Centre of Excellence dedicated to the Direct Selling industry in the world, with the other being the US-based DSEF. It is situated on the University’s beautiful campus in Solan (Direct Selling Education Foundation). CEDSA will also be home to the world’s second direct selling research facility, after the Pekin University Research Center on Direct Selling (RCDS) in China.

“This is a brand-new programme at Shoolini University to encourage students to think about Direct Selling as a viable career option. Shoolini University Founder and Pro-Chancellor Vishal Anand remarked, “With IDSA, we are certain that we will provide a curriculum that fulfils the standards of this dynamic sector.”

“My heartiest congratulations to the IDSA and ShooIini University for adopting such a tremendous initiative,” Ms Simarjot Kaur, Additional Director, Dept. of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Govt. of Punjab remarked to the crowd. Direct Selling has given it a lot of energy and scale in recent years, and the type of changes it has brought to the people of our country, particularly women, is just incredible.”

Dr Kamal Kant Vashishth, Director of eLearning at Shoolini University, explained everything about CEDSA’s Post Graduate Diploma in Direct Selling. “In today’s world, earning while studying is a vital element of our lives,” Dr Vashishth remarked. CEDSA’s main goal is to promote inclusive entrepreneurship, which would be a huge help to the country’s young.

Mr Gary Huggins, Executive Director- DSEF, Ms Tamuna Gabilaia, Executive Director & COO-WFDSA, as well as members of IDSA’s Executive Committee, Mr Rajat Banerji – Vice-Chair, Mr Vivek Katoch- Treasurer, Dr Jitendra Jagota- Secretary, and Mr Chetan Bhardwaj- General Manager, attended the event.
