Because of troubled Malaysians whose occupation has been disturbed by the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO), Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) and Direct Selling Association of Malaysia (DSAM) have held hands to raise assets to buy fundamental food supplies for those in urgent need.
MRCA president Shirley Tay said the drive means to raise RM500,000 and food boxes are being disseminated by the two related to more than 10,000 families inside the Klang Valley and close by regions since 3 July 2021.
“Large numbers of our individuals are severely hit by this pandemic. Some can’t support the past 90 days with their present income positions. Notwithstanding, we accept that this cooperation with DSAM will essentially help the less lucky as each commitment would diminish the enduring of the rakyat,” she said during a virtual public interview on 16 July 2021 to declare drive to give food help to the destitute.
Tay brought up that to date, the food confines have arrived at 2,000 families in nine dispersion areas.
These included PPR Pantai Ria, Kuala Lumpur; PPR Sri Sabah, Kuala Lumpur; Kampung Tasek Permai, Ampang Jaya; Kampung Labu Lanjut, Sepang; Kampung Baru Sungai Chua, Kajang; Salak Selatan Baru, Kuala Lumpur; PPR Seri Nilam, Ampang; PPR Hiliran Ampang, Kuala Lumpur and PPR Pandan Mewah, Ampang.
“More areas are right now being settled for on-going conveyances. On these occasions, every beneficiary will get a food box containing 5kg rice, moment noodles, vermicelli, sardines, heated beans, malt-based chocolate drink powder, and bread rolls,” added Tay.
DSAM president Datuk Tan Chong Guan said the affiliation is teaming up with MRCA to help the influenced families.
“During this troublesome time, we comprehend numerous families are battling to put food on the table. Through this little motion, we desire to assist them with overcoming these difficult occasions,” said Tan.
